We are currently seeking reliable, responsible, and compassionate Home to School Drivers to join our growing team across Essex, North Kent and South East London.
Our services support families and local authorities by safely transporting children particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or other vulnerabilities to and from school each day. As a Home to School Driver, you will play a key role in ensuring student safety, comfort, and punctuality while representing the professional values of NEXUS.

Responsibilities
Transport vulnerable children and adults to and from their school, college or day centres on a daily basis.
Communicate effectively with users, parents/carers and school officials to establish professional working relationships.
Perform pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working order, reporting any faults discovered.
Maintain a clean and safe environment in the vehicle at all times.
Requirements
Hold a valid UK driving licence.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Willing to drive a variety of vehicles, including 8-seater people carriers and wheelchair accessible vehicles.
Be able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings and afternoons.
Have the right to work in the UK.
Pass an enhanced criminal record check (DBS).
Pass a D4 medical assessment.

Job Opportunity: Passenger Assistants (Home to School Transport) – Essex & Surrounding Areas

NEXUS Transport Services is looking for caring and dependable Passenger Assistants to support children and vulnerable students on their journeys to and from school, college, or day centres.
We are currently recruiting in Basildon and Benfleet, with coverage across areas around Essex and more.

Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the safety and comfort of students with special educational needs (SEN)
Support students during boarding and exiting the vehicle
Promote a calm, friendly environment during travel
Communicate with families and report any concerns to our team
Requirements:
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Willingness to undergo training (First Aid/Medical if needed)
Right to work in the UK and pass an enhanced DBS check
Flexibility for morning and afternoon shifts (term-time only)
